Cultural Trip along the northwestern Aegean coast

This Aegean Coast trip has two goals: To get to know the culinary highlights of Turkish cuisine and to bring the meaning of antique cultural sites closer to the traveler

What makes this trip unique is the fact that it will take place during olive-picking season. During our trip we will get to know the history of the olive tree and of olive oil in detail. We will not only be able to admire 1000 year old olive trees, but also be able to explore the specific Turkish flora in the area. Depending on the weather, we may be able to explore the coast of Ayvalik by boat – including a trip to the Greek island Levsos. Besides the visit to Troy, we will also visit the historical museum of the Pergamum. Then we will travel to the city of Izmir.

Day 1

Individual arrivals in Istanbul. At 2:00 pm we will meet at the hotel with the travel guide and companions. After a short introduction, we will begin with an explanation of the particularities of the Aegean coast. Additionally, we will hear some more information about olive trees and the production of olive oil by a botanist. During dinner, we will have the opportunity to get to know the varieties of Aegean cuisine a little bit closer. Overnight stay in Istanbul.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will explore Istanbul. The first highlight of the day is the legendary bazaar. Afterwards, we will make our way through the streets and alleys of this metropolis. We will stop for coffee shops and boutiques. Furthermore, this day will harbor a surprise. A small hint: it will definitely be a culinary experience! Overnight stay in Istanbul.

Day 3

In the morning we will leave or Troy. There we will get a special tour to explore this historic site. Afterwards, our travels will continue to Adatepe. We will spend the rest of the day relaxing. Overnight stay in Adatepe.

Day 4

In the morning we will explore Adatepe. We will walk to a breathtaking waterfall. In the afternoon we will visit the Olive Museum. Depending on the weather conditions, we will spend most of the day on the Greek island Leysos. We will get there by boat. Should the weather not permit such a trip by boat, we will sightsee on land. Overnight stay in Adatepe.

Day 5

Today we will stay in the outskirts of Adatepe and will visit several olive plantations and smaller sights. Afterwards we will return to Adatepe.

Day 6

This day will be dedicated to the subject of "Olives" and we will therefore make our way to Laleli. There you can pick your own olives and actively participate in the production of olive oil. The following olive oil tasting will consequentially tale a special meaning. Afterwards we will return to Adatepe.

Day 7

Early in the morning we will leave Adatepe and drive to Ayvalik. Upon arrival we will visit the second historical highlight of the region: the famous Pergamum museum. This visit will encompass the whole day. Overnight stay in Ayvalik.

Day 8

We will explore Izmir in the morning. After this last stop on our trip, you will be taken to the airport in Izmir. Alternatively, we would love to advise you on how to spontaneously extend your visit in Trukey.

Group size: Min. 10 - Max. 20 people

Conditions: The price for groups up to 10 people is 1980,- € per person; in groups of 15 people an up, the price is 1785,- € per person. If you want a single room, an extra fee of 350,- € applies
